Stocks On The Move - October 8

The biggest mover of the day is Vonage Holdings (VG), a major digital phone service provider that was in serious trouble due to six patents infringement of Sprint which may put the company out of business. The settlement with Sprint on Monday send the stock up 123.48% to $2.57 per share on hope that the company's business could be back on track. The trading volumn also made an all time high with 35 million shares exchanged hands.

In Nasdaq the Chinese information network security provider
CTDC reported a strong result for the six months ending June, 2007 with net income of $796,600 compared to net loss of $736,000 US for the same period in 2006. The news helped the stock to reached new 52 weeks high of $11.98 and finished the day gaining 24.28% to $10.39 per share. The heavy volumn of 15.67 million shares was also an all time high.

Another China based company LDK Solar(
LDK) however was on the eighth straight losing session with 26.4% loss to $37.5 per share, losing half of its value in just 5 days. This all started when a former eecutive said the solar wafer maker had problems with its silicon inventories. Even in the after market the stock lost another 4.53% to $35.8 per share.
