Stocks Rise on Heavy Volumn:

  • Monster Worldwide Inc. (MNST): the New York base leading online job posting site today posted monster fourth quarter profit increase of 49% that pushed the stock up $5.97 per share or $14% to new 52 week high of $48.5 per share with 9.9 million shares traded, more than five times of average volumn.
  • Amtel Corp. (ATML): shares of San Jose, CA based memory maker surged 11.14% on rising profit in the fourth quarter. The stock close the day at new 52 week high of $4.39 per share on doubled average volumn of 14 million shares.

Stock Drop on Heavy Volumn:

  • JetBlue Airways (JBLU): fourth quarter loss send shares of Forest Hills, NY based discount airline down 14.26% or $1.86 to new 52 week low of $11.18 per share. 27 million shares have exchanged hans, about 8 times of average volumn.
