Stocks Rise on Heavy Volumn:
  • Hollis-Eden Pharmaceuticals Inc. (HEPH): shares of San Diego, CA based biotechnology company soared 29.48% to $3.25 per share after the company reported reduced net loss for the fourth-quarter. The stock was the third leading gainer on Nasdaq today with 17.4 million shares traded.
  • Doral Financial Corp.(DRL): shares of San Juan, Puerto Rico based financial service company soared 28.24% to $1.68 per share after New Yrok Community Bankcrop is buying 11 branches from Doral. The stock was biggest winner on NYSE today with 6.79 million shares traded.

Stocks Drop on Heavy Volumn:

  • Adams Respiratory Therapeutics Inc. (ARXT): shares of respiratory disordres drug maker plunged 25.09% to $28.22 per share on revenue warning due to lower-thhan-expected orders. The stock was the fourth leading decliner Nasdaq today with 10.92 million shares traded.
