Stocks Rise on Heavy Volumn:

  • Dendrite International Inc. (DRTE): shares of Bedminster, NJ based pharmaceutical software maker surged 21.42% to $15.53 per share after the Cegedim is buying the company for $751 million or $16 per share. The stock was the second biggest winner on Nasdaq today with 17.36 million shares traded.
  • Insmed Inc. (INSM): shares of Glen Allen, VA based drug maker for metabolic diseases surged 13.87% to $1.56 per share despite no major news announcement. The stock last week has been very active as the trading price range from $1.2 to as high as $1.6. The stock was the fourth leading gainer on Nasdaq today with 7.34 million shares traded.
  • Immersion Corp. (IMMR): shares of San Jose, CA based simulation systems maker jumped 17.29% to $8.48 per share after the company settle patent litigation with Sony Corp. The stock was the third leading gianer on Nasdaq today with 9.72 million shares traded.
