Stocks Rise on Heavy Volumn:

  • Genta Inc. (GNTA): shares of Berkeley Heights, NJ based biotech firm surged 15.22% on positive result on trial of chemotheraphy treatment. The stock is now trading at new 52 week high at $3.18 per share, a 100% gain since the beginning of this year. 34 million shares have exchanged hands, about 10 times of average volumn.
  • Bookham Inc. (BKHM): reducing second quarter deficit helped shares of San Jose, CA based optical components maker up 12.07% to new 52 week high of $7.8 per share with 40 times normal volumn of 25 million shares exchanged hands.

Stocks Drop on Heavy Volumn:

  • NutriSystem Inc. (NTRI): shares of Horsham, PA based weight-loss company sinked $8.38 or 16.92% to $41.15 per share on weak fourth quarter earnings. The stock is the fourth biggest loser on Nasdaq with eight times average volumn of 8 million shares.
  • @Roat, Inc. (ARDI): shares of Fremont, CA based wireless solution provider fall 15.52% to $4.3 per share as the company is losing the Verizon Wireless customer base as Verizon is shutting down the wireless network that At Road Inc serves. Plus ten times average volumn of 6.8 million shares have exchanged hands
