- Deere & Co. (DE): shares of agricultural equipment manufacturer surged 9% to $111.91 per share after the company posted bigger than expected profit for the first quarter. The stock was the sixth leading gainer on NYSE today with 9.6 million shares traded.
Stocks Drop on Heavy Volumn:
- Daktronics Inc. (DAKT): shares of Brookings, South Dakota based scoreboard maker plunged 21% to $30.09 per share as its fourth-quarter profit and revenue forecast are below Wall Street estimates. The stock was the biggest loser on Nasdaq today with 11.32 million shares traded.
- Carters Inc. (CRI): shares of Atlanta based baby and young children's clothing maker tumbled 16.7% to $21.05 per share on falling fourth quarter profit and reduced 2007 earnings forecast. The stock was the leading decliner on NYSE today with 6.17 million shares traded.
