Stocks Rise on Heavy Volumn:
- Sepracor Inc. (SEPR): shares of Marlborough, MA based pharmaceutical firm surged 16.12% to $26.73 per share on positive outlook for 2008 with cost cutting effort. The stock was just trading at new 52 weeks low yesterday but today was the eighth leading gainer on Nasdaq today with 10 million shares traded.
- On2 Technologies Inc. (ONT): shares of On2 Technology, a Clifton Park, NY based video codec software maker rose for the third straight sessions with another 9.26% gain to $1.18 per share on successful integration of its product with RipCode. The stock was the fifth leading gainer on AMEX today with 6.2 million shares traded.
Stock Drop on Heavy Volumn:
- Smith & Wesson Holding Corp. (SWHC): shares of Springfield, MA based handguns maker plunged 39.67% to $12.12 per share after the company posted weak second quarter result and also lowered the revenue growth. The stock was the worst stock on Nasdaq today with 15 million shares traded.
- American Medical Systems Holdings Inc. (AMMD): shares of surgical products maker tumbled 29.15% to new 52 week low of $12.03 per share on disappointing third quarter results and profit warning. The stock was the fourth leading decliner on Nasdaq with 19.9 million shares traded.
