Stocks Rise on Heavy Volumn:

  • Nymox Pharmaceutical Corp. (NYMX): shares of St Laurent, Canada based Alzheimer's disease treatment company soared 23.94% tor 91 cents to new 52 weeks high of $4.17 on strong financial results for 2005 and analyst's recommendation. The stock finished the day at the fourth place of the Nasdaq's percentage gainer of the day with 6.4 million shares traded.
  • Broadwing orporation. (BWNG): shares of Austin, Texas based broadband service provider surged 16.38% to new 52 weeks high of $14.78 on merger rumor with Global Crossing(GLBC). The stock was the tenth leading advancer on Nasdaq with 7.8 million shares traded.

Stocks Drop on Heavy Volumn:

  • Evergreen Solar Inc. (ESLR): shares of Marlboro, MA, based solar power company lost 8.73% or $1.34 to $14.01 on analysts downgrade after the company lost a contract with MEMC Electronic Materials Inc.(WFR), its main silicon supplier. The stock has dropped more than a dolloar for the second consecutive session from as high as $17 per share yesterday.
  • Mills Corp. (MLS): shares of Arlington, VA based real estate investment trust(REIT) dropped 11.79% or $4.33 to new 52 weeks low of $32.4 as analyst warned the real estate investment trust may have overstated operating income. The stock was the leading decliner on NYSE today with 5.9 million shares exchanged hands.
