Stocks On The Move - November 14

Stocks Up On Heavy Volumn:

  • Questcor Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (QSC): earlier in August of this year this is still a tiny penny stock trading at just 21 cents per share. However after the company annouced bullish third quarter result this Monday, all the sudden what we have here is a $4.55 stock with bright future. Todays 40% gain marks the fourth straight winning session and with the trading volumn now expands to 11 million shares looks like this stock is now taking center stage and should probably attract more buyers.
  • Canadian Solar Inc. (CSIQ): this is not a Canadian based company but a China based solar power products maker for customers worldwide. Today the company reported sharply rise in third quarter profit and also send the stock price sharply up almost 30% to $14.53 per share. During the trading session today the stock actually reached new 52 weeks high of $17.1 per share. The stock was the third leading gainer on Nasdaq today with 6.28 million shares traded.

Stock Down on Heavy Volumn:

  • United Rentals, Inc. (URI): shares of construction equipment rental company plunged 30.9% to $23.5 per share after Cerberus pull from the merger agreement worth $7.0 billion which valued the company at $34.5 per share. The stock was the worst performing one on NYSE today with 36 million shares traded, the nineth heaviest trade.
