The stock was the fourth leading gainer on Nasdaq today with 13.6 million shares traded, almost 20 times average volumn.
• Maytag Corp.(MYG): shares of one of the nation's leading home applience maker soared 27.69% or $4.78 to new 52 wees high of $21.81 after antitrust regulators approved Whirlpool(WHR) $1.79 billion acquisition of Maytag. The stock was the biggest percentage winner on NYSE today with 14.8 million shares exchanged hands, about 14 times average volumn.
