Stock On The Move - April 6
Stocks Rise on Heavy Volumn:
- Crystallex International Corp. (KRY): shares of Toronto, Canada based gold mining company jumped 28.73% or $1.27 to $5.69 on positive comment from Jim Cramer in his Mad Money show. The stock is the leading gainer on AMEX today with 47.9 million shares traded, the second heaviest traded also on AMEX.
- Napster Inc.(NAPS): shares of Santa Clara, CA based online music provider surged 20.18% or 68 cents to $4.05 as the company raised fouth quarter revenue forecast, from 25 million to 26 million, on stronger subscriber growth. The stock is the second biggest percentage gainer on Nasdaq today with 6.6 million shares traded, about four times average volumn.
Stocks Drop on Heavy Volumn:
- Spectrum Brands Inc. (SPC): the Atlanta, GA based Rayovac batteries maker plunged 27.86% or $5.99 to new 52 weeks low of $15.51 per share after the company cut second quarter forecast due to weakness in its consumer battery business. In addition the company also annouced 350 jobs cut in Europe, about 24% of workforce. The stock was the leading decliner on NYSE today with 9.4 million shares exchanged hands, about 13 times average volumn.
- Novavax Inc. (NVAX): shares of Malvern, PA based avian flu vaccine maker dropped 10.03% or 67 cents to $6.01 per share on analysts downgrade as the recent runup in the stock's price was not justified. The stock is the fifth leading decliner on Nasdaq today with two times average volumn of 11 million shares traded.
