Stocks Rise on Heavy Volumn:
- Rambus Inc.(RMBS): shares of leading memory chips maker soared 18.51% or $4.49 to $28.75 per share after reports saying emails from the company's competitor suggest price manipulation. The report could help Rambus on lawsuit against the rival chip makers. The stock was the fifth leading gainer on Nasdaq today with 18.4 million shares exchanged hands, more than three times average volumn.
- CTC Media Inc.(CTCM): investors welcome the debut of the Moscow based television network company by sending its stock up 21.43% or $3 to $17 per share. The stock was the third biggest winner on Nasdaq today with 7.7 million shares traded.
Stock Drop on Heavy Volumn:
- Novell Inc. (NOVL): shares of Waltham, MA based open source software provider plunged 14.62% or $1.13 to $6.6 per share after the company issued negative outlook for the third quarter despite posting second quarter profils. The stock was the second biggest loser and the nineth heaviest traded on NYSE today with 38 million shares traded, or five times of average volumn.
- M Systems Flash Disk Pioneers Ltd. (FLSH): shares of Israel based flash memory maker slumped 13.6% or $4.55 to $28.9 per share on investigation over the company's stock options grants. The stock was the fourth leading decliner on Nasdaq today with 8.9 million shares traded or eight times average volumn.
