Stocks Rise on Heavy Volumn:
- Titanium Metals Corp. (TIE): after dropping 14.86% in the previous session on profit taking, shares of Dallas, Texas based titanium melted products maker bounced back 13.1% or $4.06 to $35.05 per share. The stock was again at the first place on NYSE except this time it's on the winning side as the stock became the leading gainer on NYSE with 19 million shares traded, also the fifteenth heaviest traded on NYSE.
- Marvell Technology Group.(MRVL): shares of Hamilton, HM based analog and digital signal processing semiconductors maker surged 13.1% or $6.51 to $56.22 per share after the company reported strong first quarter earning which toped estimate and issued bullish forecast for 2007. The stock was the seventh leading gainer on Nasdaq today with 19.4 million shares traded, about three times average volumn.
Stocks Drop on Heavy Volumn:
- Finish Line Inc. (FINL): shares of Indianapolis, IN based footwear retail stores operator plunged 17.44% or $2.56 to new 52 weeks low of $12.12 per share on analyst downgrade after the company cut its profit forecast sharply due to drop in sales of women's running shoes and children's footwear. The stock was the fourth leading decliner on Nasdaq today with record volumn of 7.9 million shares traded or 15 times average volumn.
- RSA Security Inc. (RSAS): shares of Bedford, MA online identities protection solution provider sank 12.28% or $2.12 to $15.15 per share after the company received inquiry letter from The Securities and Exchange Commission on documents related to RSA's stock option grants and practices. The stock was the twelveth leading decliner on NYSE today with 5.5 million shares traded or four times average volumn.
