Stocks On The Move - August 21
Stocks Rise on Heavy Volumn:
- OraLabs Holding Corp. (OLAB): earlier in April the Parker, Coloraldo based oral care products maker soared 37.39% or $2.15 to $7.9 per share. Since then months of profit taking has send the stock back to $3.32 yesterday. The stock is on the hot list again as it skyrocketted 99.7% to $6.63 after the company posted 73% increase in sales for the second quarter. There could be some profit taking as ROC is indicating overbuy. The stock is the biggest winner on the stock market today with 4.8 million shares traded.
- Gold Kist Inc.(GKIS): shares of Atlanta, Georgia based broiler company jumped 47.1% to 52 weeks high of $19.02 per share after Pilgrim's Pride placed a bid on the company for $1 billion or $20 per share. The stock was the third leading gainer on Nasdaq today with 18.65 million shares exchanged hands.
Stocks Drop on Heavy Volumn:
- Dollar General Corp. (DG): shares of Goodlettsville, TN based discount retailer lost 9.58% to new 52 weeks low $12.74 per share after the company lowered its earning guidance for the second quarter. This ended the short rally began earlier this month and the stock is now back to downtrend with K line dropping below D line. The stock was the biggest loser on NYSE today with 10 million shares exchanged hands.
- Visteon Corp. (VC): shares of auto parts maker dropped 8.72% to $8.27 per share as Ford plans to significantly cut production for the remainder of the year. Current support is at $7 but the stock remains in bull market as MACD is still above 0. The stock was the fourth leading decliner on NYSE today with 5 million shares exchanged hands.
