Stocks Rise on Heavy Volumn:

• CDC Corp. (CHINA): shares of Hong Kong based enterprise software and online game company jumped 17.72% to new 52 weeks high of $8.77 per share. The stock has been doing well this year and has almost went trippled from $3 in January. The stock was the fifth leading gainer on Nasdaq today with 11.64 million shares traded.
• NYSE Group Inc. (NYX): the operator of New York Stock Exchange is among the leading gainers on NYSE today as it restructures board help smooth the merger with Euronext. Shares rose 9.74% to new high of $104.6 per share and was the fourth leading gainer with 10.76 million shares exchanged hands.

Stock Drop on Heavy Volumn:

• Advanced Medical Optics Inc. (EYE): shares of Santa Ana, CA based eye surgery products maker dropped 8.92% to $35.75 per share on recalls of contact lens solution which could cause eye infection. The stock was the second leading decliner on NYSE today with 8.68 million shares traded.
