Stocks Rise on Heavy Volumn:
- Onstream Media Corp. (ONSM): shares of Pompano Beach, Florida on-demand media communication company skyrocketted 48.58% to $3.15 per share after the comapny announced new platform with on-demand video capabilities a day ago. The stock was the second leading gainer on the stock market today with 22.56 million shares traded.
- Horizon Health Corp. (HORC): shares of Lewisville, Texas based health care services provider surged 20.02% to $19.36 per share after the company agreed to be bought by Psychiatric Solutiosn for $426 million. The stock was the sixth leading gainer on Nasdaq today with 6.48 million shares traded.
Stocks Drop on Heavy Volumn:
- SIGA Technologies Inc. (SIGA): after rising 82.15% yesterday on positive news from the company's smallpox drug. However profit taking sink the stock down 22.29% to $3.85 per share today and make the stock the second biggest loser on Nasdaq with heavy volumn of 11.68 million shares traded.
- Northfield Laboratories Inc. (NFLD): shares of Evanston, Illinois based biotechnology company dropped for the fifth straight session with another 15% loss to new 52 weeks low of $4.12 per share on disappointing result of the Phase II trial of the oxygen-carrying red blood cell substitute. The stock was the seventh leading decliner on Nasdaq today with 6.7 million shares traded.
