Stocks Rise on Heavy Volumn:

  • Forgent Networks Inc. (FORG): shares of Austin, Texas based intellectual property licensing company jumped 37.27% to $1.51 per share although no news is announced. This continued the rally which began in early December as the company reported jump in both income and revenue. Since then stock stock has rose almsot 200%. The stock was the leading gainer on Nasdaq today with 8.3 million shares traded.
  • Realogy Corporation (H): shares of Parsippany, NJ based real estate and relocation services provider soared 19.22% to $30 to per share after the company is bought by Apollo for $6.65 billion. The stock was the leading gainer and the twelveth heaviest traded on NYSE today with 25.17 million shares traded.
  • Mamma.com Inc. (MAMA): shares of Montreal, Canada based web search technology company surged 15.77% to $5.14 per share. For the past two months the stock has gained 400%. The stock was the seventh leading gainer on Nasdaq today with 30.43 million shares traded, also the eighth heaviest traded on Nasdaq.
  • Caremark Rx Inc. (CMX): shares of Nashville, Tennessee based pharmaceutical services company rose 10.5% to $55.58 per share after Express Scripts is bidding the company for $26 billion. The stock was the fifth leading gainer on NYSE today with 35.92 million shares traded, the seventh heaviest traded on Nasdaq.
