Stocks Rise on Heavy Volumn:
- Syntax-Brillian Corporation(BRLC): shares of HDTV maker surged 18.88% to $6.61 per share after the company raised its revenue outlook for the year due to strong product demand. The stock was the fifth leading gainer on Nasdaq today with 17.65 million shares traded.
- DJO Incorporated (DJO): shares of rehabilitation products maker jumped 19% to $50.1 per share after another medical device maker ReAble Therapeutics is buying the company for $1.18 billion or $50.25 per share. The stock was the biggest gainer on NYSE today with 4 million shares traded.
Stock Drop on Heavy Volumn:
- Immersion Corp. (IMMR): shares of San Jose, CA based simulation systems maker plunged 15.76% to $17.23 per share ending its one year run which began last year around $5 per share. Analyst downgrade the stock to Marekt Weight because the stock may be over priced. The stock was the fourth leading decliner on Nasdaq today with 5.76 million shares traded.
