Stocks Rise on Heavy Volumn:

  • VeriFone Holdings Inc. (PAY): shares of the San Jose, California base electronic payment device maker soared 22.98% to $28.47 per share as the company posted better than expected third quarter result and issued bullish forecast for 2007. KD show possible rally as K line is on top of D line. However with MACD still below 0 and ROC is at overbuy level, do expect profit taking soon. The stock was the biggest winner on NYSE today with 4.4 million shares traded.
  • Titanium Metals Corp. (TIE): shares of the Dallas, Texas based titanium product maker rose 7.09% to $27.63 per share on new dividend distribution of $0.84375 per share. Now that K line is on top over D line again the stock has chance to go back to new rally. But wait before you buy the stock until the stock can break above 50 day moving average. The stock was the fifth leading gainer on NYSE today with 5.3 million shares exchanged hands.

Stocks Drop on Heavy Volumn:

  • Pegasus Wireless Corp. (PGWC): shares of Fremont, California based wireless hardware ans software provider plunged 30.61% to new 52 weeks low of $2.38 per share on negative comment. With MACD below 0 and K line below D line the stock will go down further. Any time the stock bounce back is the time to sell more. The stock was the biggest loser on Nasdaq today with 7.98 million shares traded.
  • Nam Tai Electronics Inc. (NTE): shares of Hong Kong based telecommunication and consumer electronics OEM company tumbled 23.75% to new 52 weeks low of $11.43 per share on negative outlook for the third quarter and for the year. With ROC showing stock is oversold, do expect the stock to bounce back at least few sessions. The stock was the biggest loser on NYSE today with 6.8 million shares exchanged hands.
