Stocks Rise on Heavy Volumn:
  • OraSure Technoogies Inc. (OSUR): shares of Bethlehem, PA based oral fluid specimen collection devices maker soared 21.83% to $8.54 per share after federal government recommended routine testing of HIV for all Americans between ages of 13 to 64. The stock has been on a rally on rising KD. However the stock is still slightly weak as MACD signal is below 0 and the 50 day MA is still below 200 day MA. The stock was the third best performer on Nasdaq today with 15.8 million shares traded.
  • Gymboree Corp.(GYMB): shares of children's clothing retailer surged 12.67% to new 52 weeks high of $42.78 per share after the company raised guidance for the third quarter and the year due to strong sales in September. The stock is in a strong and long bull market rally as MACD is above 0 and K line is on top of D line while 50 day and 200 day MA have been rising for a year. The stock was the eleventh leading gainer on Nasdaq today with 5.19 million shares exchagned hands.

Stock Drop on Heavy Volumn:

  • InfoSpace Inc. (INSP): shares of Bellevue, Washington based mobile entertainment company plunged 21.8% to new 52 weeks low of $17.68 per share after the company announced that one of its biggest wireless carrier will stop purchasing ringtones from the company next year. With ROC now showing stock is oversold, bargain hunters may come. Yet the stock for the long term is still in weak market. The stock was the third biggest loser on Nasdaq today with 6.43 million shares traded.
  • CVS Corp. (CVS): shares of nationwide drug store chain tumbled 8.35% to $32.47 per share after Wal-Mart cut price of generic prescription drugs to $5 in Florida stores. KD is showing weakness as K line is below D line. Yet MACD shows the stock is still in bull market as MACD signal is still above 0. The stock was the third leading decliner and the heaviest traded on NYSE today with 42.73 million shares traded.
