Stocks Rise on Heavy Volumn:
  • Transmeta Corp. (TMTA): shares of Santa Clara, CA based energy efficient CPU maker surged 12.82% to $1.32 on new analyst coverage. The stock is now back at 50 day moving average and may continue to go up as K line is now on top of D line indicating buy signal. The stock was the eleventh leading gainer on Nasdaq today with 6.38 million shares traded or more than three times average volumn.
  • Hansen Natural Corp. (HANS): shares of Corona, CA based beverages maker surged 12.16% to $33.38 per share on upgrade by Goldman Sachs. The stock could now reverse the downtrend as now K line is on top of D line indicating buy signal. The stock was the thirteenth leading gainer and also the thirteenth heaviest traded on Nasdaq today with 20 million shares traded.

Stocks Drop on Heavy Volumn:

  • Arch Coal Inc.(ACI): shares of St. Louis, Missouri based coal mining company tumbled 8.13% to new 52 weeks low of $27.56 per share. The downtrend of the stock hasn't stopped yet so it is still now the time to buy as the stock is very weak since 50 day moving average is below 200 day moving average. The stock was the eighth leading decliner on Nasdaq today with 6.78 million shares traded.
  • Coeur d'Alene Mines Corp. (CDE): shares of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho based silver and gold mining company dropped 6.15% to $4.58 per share on weakening gold price. The stock is now back to support but the weak KD may push the stock lower. The stock was the fifteen leading decliner on NYSE today with 8.73 million shares exchanged hands.
