Stocks Rise on Heavy Volumn:
  • Crystallex International Corp. (KRY): shares of Toronto, Canada based gold mining company soared 18.28% to $3.43 per share on rising gold future. Despite weakness as 50 day moving average is below 200 day moving average, the stock has been doing well recently on rising KD. The stock was the second leading gainer on AMEX today with 9.4 million shares traded, the sixth heaviest traded also on AMEX.
  • Devon Energy Corp.(DVN): shares of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma based oil and gas company surged 12.46% to $72.14 per share on new oil field discovery beneath the Gulf of Mexico. The stock is back to a strong bull market with 50 day moving average crossed on top of 200 day moving average while KD is rising and MACD is on top of 0. The stock was the fourth best performer and third heaviest traded on NYSE today with 25.3 million shares traded.

Stocks Drop on Heavy Volumn:

  • Adolor Corp. (ADLR): shares of Exton, Pennsylvania based biopharmaceutical company plunged almost half by 45.33% to $13.65 per share on disappointing trial result. The stock may bounce back tomorrow as ROC shows the stock is oversold. The stock was the biggest loser and the twelveth heaviest traded on Nasdaq today with 24.8 million shares exchanged hands.
  • Genta Inc. (GNTA): shares of the Berkeley Heights, NJ based biopharmaceutical firm plummetted 38.23% to new 52 weeks low of 86 cents per share on questioning from FDA over the company's Leukemia drug trial. ROC is showing the stock has been oversold. However with MACD below 0 and K line below D line do expect more sell-off coming soon. The stock was the second leading decliner and the fourth heaviest traded on Nasdaq today with 43 million shares traded.
