Stocks Rise on Heavy Volumn:
  • Servicemaster Co. (SVM): shares of yard care and house maintenance services provider surged 10.5% to $13.15 per share as the company was considering putting itself up for sale. The stock was the best performer on NYSE today with 5.87 million shares traded.
  • Consulier Engineering Inc. (CSLR): shares of Florida based household and tool products maker skyrocketted 212.86% to $10.44 per share although no news was announced. The stock was the leading gainer on Nasdaq today with 2.5 million shares traded.

Stock Drop on Heavy Volumn:

  • Conolog Corp. (CNLG): after soaring almost 300% yesterday on no news, the electronic components design company fall back 34.48% to $3.25 per share on profit taking. The company still has no explaination of the high flying move on Monday. The stock was the leading decliner on Nasdaq today with 2 million shares traded.
  • Frontline Ltd. (FRO): shares of Bermuda based oil tankers company dropped 6.27% to $35.01 per share as the company expects weaker rate for oil carriers in the fourth quarter. The stock was the fifth leading decliner on NYSE today with 5.22 million shares traded.
