- Syntax-Brillian Corporation (BRLC): shares of Tempe, Arizona based high-definition televisions (HDTV) maker surged 25.24% to $7.84 per share after the company posted strong third-quarter revenue which beats Wall Street forecasts. The stock was the third leading gainer on Nasdaq today with 8.42 million shares traded.
Stocks Drop on Heavy Volumn:
- Neurocrine Biosciences Inc. (NBIX): shares San Diego, CA based drug maker was the top worst stock of the day as the stock plunged 30.01% after the company annouced that it needs to conduct more studies on the insomnia drug. About 10 times average volumn of 11 million shares were traded.
- Red Robin Gourmet Burgers Inc. (RRGB): shares of gourmet burgers restaurant chain operator plunged 26.09% to $34 per share on declining net profit. The stock was the fourth leading decliner on Nasdaq today with 9.48 million shares traded.
