Stocks Rise on Heavy Volumn:
- Indus International Inc. (IINT): shares of Atlanta, Georgia based software company skyrocketted 46.03% to $3.68 per share after the company would be acquired by Vista Equity Partners for $240 million. The stock was the biggest winner on Nasdaq today with 10.6 million shares traded.
- Connectics Corp. (CNCT): shares of Palo Alto, California based pharmaceutical company soared 45.77% to $17.07 per share after the company agreed to be bought by Stiefel Laboratories for $640 million or $17.5 per share. The stock was the second leading gainer on Nasdaq today with 9.28 million shares exchanged hands.
Stocks Drop on Heavy Volumn:
- Replidyne, Inc. (RDYN): shares of Louisville, Colorado based anti-biotics maker plunged 45.41% to $5.59 per share after FDA rejected the company's new antibiotic drug. The stock was the leading decliner on Nasdaq today with 6.3 million shares traded.
- Cameco Corp. (CCJ): shares of the world's largest uranium producer tumbled 9.63% to $34.44 per share on damage to its Cigar Lake project. The stock is in weak market as 50 day moving average is about to drop below 200 day moving average and K line has dropped below D line. The stock was the top decliner on NYSE today with 6.7 million shares traded.
