- Banta Corp. (BN): shares of Menasha, Wisconsin based printing company surged 17.77% to $52.15 per share after Donnelley & Sons Co is acquiring the company for $1.3 billion. The stock was the best performer on NYSE today with 6.4 million shares traded.
- Mastercard Incorporated (MA): shares of world's leading credit card provider soared 14.8% to $85.07 per share after the company reported 82% rise in profit for the third quarter. The stock was the second leading gainer on NYSE today with 14.12 million shares exchanged hands.
Stocks Drop on Heavy Volumn:
- Wolverine Tube Inc. (WLV): shares of Huntsville, AL based copper alloy tubular products maker plunged 59.93% to only $1.15 per share as the company considered filing for bankruptcy. The stock was the biggest loser on NYSE today with 7.4 million shares traded.
- Garmin Ltd. (GRMN): shares of world's leading GPS devices maker tumbled 15.78% to $44.98 per share as the company missed Wall Street's revenue target despite 20% rise in third quarter profit. The technical chart shows the stock may bounce back as the ROC shows the stock is oversold. The stock was the fourth leading decliner and the tenth heaviest traded on Nasdaq today with 26.87 million shares exchanged hands.
