Stocks On The Move - December 27

Stocks Rise on Heavy Volumn:

  • Infosonics Corp. (IFON): shares of San Diego, CA based wireless handsets distributor soared 43.67% to $5.56 per share on distribution deal for Korean's LG Electronics. The stock was the second leading gainer on Nasdaq today with 11.29 million shares traded.
  • Sento Corp. (SNTO): the Salt Lake City, Utah based call center services provider is the biggest winner on the stock market today with stock jumping up 68.7% to $3.24 per share before the announcement of the second quarter result. However the aftermarket is a totatlly different story as the disappointing second quarter loss send the shares down 18% to $2.65 per share, erasing a third of the gain today. The stock may end up being one of the top decliner tomorrow.

Stocks Drop on Heavy Volumn:

  • ZI Corp. (ZICA): the rally of Calgary, Canada based software maker last for two days as profit taking today send the stock down 13.67% to $2.21 per share with ten times average volumn of 3.37 million shares traded. The stock was the fourth leading decliner on Nasdaq.
  • Telik Inc. (TELK): the weakness continues for the Palo Alto, CA based biopharmaceutical company as shares dropped another 7.55% to $4.41 per share. In the previous session shares plunged 70% on disappointing late-stage clinical results of its cancer treatment drug. The stock was the seventh heaviest traded on Nasdaq today with 20.42 million shares traded.
