  • Tribune Co.(TRB): shares of Chicago, IL based newspaper publishing company gained 6.05% or $1.94 to $33.99 per share as the company plans to either sale, breakup or buyout. The stock was the third leading gainer on NYSE today with 6.83 million shares traded, or three times average volumn.

Stock Drop on Heavy Volumn:

  • Informatica Crop. (INSP): shares of Redwood City, CA based enterprise data integration software maker tumbled 10.83% to $12.93 on downgrade from Goldman Sachs analyst. The stock was the tenth leading decliner on Nasdaq today with 6 million shares traded.
  • Boston Scientific Corp. (BSX): shares of Natick, MA based medical devices maker lost 9.23% to 52 weeks low $14.85 per share on third quarter profit warning. The stock was the third leading decliner and the heaviest traded on NYSE today with 75 million shares traded.
