Stocks Rise on Heavy Volumn:
  • Align Technologies Inc. (ALGN): shares of Santa Clara, CA based teeth misalignment treatment provider soared 48.21% to $11.56 per share on patent dispute settlement with competitor OrthoClear. The stock reached new 52 weeks high of $13.34 per share earlier in the day. With MACD above 0 and KD at 80, the stock is now at a strong market. However with ROC showing stock is overbought there could be some profit taking. The stock was the biggest winner and the twelveth heaviest traded on Nasdaq today with 24.56 million shares traded.
  • Accenture Ltd.(ACN): shares of leading consulting company gained 7.63% to $31.6 per share after the company announced 51% jump in profit for the fourth quarter. The technical chart is showing the stock is in bull market rally with K line on top over D line and MACD above 0. The stock was the fourth leading gainer on Nasdaq today with 8.78 million shares traded.

Stock Drop on Heavy Volumn:

  • TVIA Inc. (TVIA): shares of Santa Clara, CA based maker of display processors for digital tv plunged 58.86% to $1.44 per share after the company warned huge revenue drop for the second quarter. The stock has reversed its course from bull market to bear market but has chance to recover some of the loss as ROC is showing the stock is oversold. The stock was the biggest loser on Nasdaq today with 5.27 million shares traded.
  • Zhone Technologies Inc. (ZHNE): shares of Oakland, CA based communication equipment maker tumbled 24.29% to 52 weeks low of $1.06 per share after the company cut it's third-quarter outlook due to weakness in its international business. With ROC now showing the stock is oversold there's chance that the stock may bounce back up. The stock was the second leading decliner on Nasdaq today with 7.53 million shares traded.
