Stocks Rise on Heavy Volumn:
  • Research In Motion Ltd. (RIMM): shares of BlackBerry maker surged 19.28% to $102.65 on strong second quarter earning and bullish third quarter outlook. The stock reached 52 weeks high of $104.5 during the session. The stock is now in a strong bull market as 50 day MA has just crossed above 200 day MA with MACD above 0 indicating bull market. The stock was the fourth leading gainer and the seventh heaviest traded with 34.4 million shares traded.
  • BARE ESCENTUALS (BARE): shares of natural cosmetics manufacturer soared 23.41% to $27.15 per share on first day of trading. The stock was initially priced at $22 per share.

Stock Drop on Heavy Volumn:

  • Labopharm Inc. (DDSS): shares of Canada based pharmaceutical company plunged 22.69% to $5.65 per share after receiving approvable letter from FDA. The stock was the third leading decliner on Nasdaq today with 5.29 shares traded.
  • Chemed Corp. (CHE): shares of Cincinnati, Ohio hospice care services provider tumbled 17.15% to $32.26 per share after cutting its earnings outlook for 2006. The technical chart shows the stock is in a weak market with MACD below 0 and 50 day MA below 200 day MA. The stock was the biggest loser on NYSE today with 4.11 million shares traded.
