Stocks On the Move - October 13

Stocks Rise on Heavy Volumn:
  • CytRx Corp. (CYTR): shares of Los Angeles, CA based biopharmaceutical research company soared 26.1% to $1.55 per share on heavy volumn although no news announced. With K line now back on top of D line again the stock has the change to begin rally. The stock was the fourth leading gainer on Nasdaq today with 11.76 million shares traded.
  • SITEL Corp.(SWW): shares of Omaha, Nebraska based business consulting company rose 10.8% to $3.9 per share after the company is acquired by ClientLogic for $450 million or $4.5 per share. The stock was the biggest winner on NYSE today with 17.9 million shares traded.

Stock Drop on Heavy Volumn:

  • Viewpoint Corp. (VWPT): shares of New York based Internet marketing technology company plunged 25.49% to 76 cents per share after the company lowered it's outlook for the year. The stock is in very weak market with 50 day MA about to drop below 200 day MA and MACD still deep below 0. The stock was the biggest loser on Nasdaq today with 4.1 million shares traded.
  • Saifun Semiconductors Ltd. (SFUN): shares of Israel based intellectual property solutions provider for semiconductor memory market plummetted 25.38% to $21.7 per share after the company would lose business from on of its largest customers after the fourth quarter. With ROC showing the stock is oversold there is chance that the stock may bounce back. The stock was the second leading decliner on Nasdaq today with 3.57 million shares traded.
