- Harrah's Entertainment Inc. (HET): shares of Las Vegas, based casino operator surged 13.92% to $75.68 per share on speculation of buyout offer of $15.05 billion from two private equity firms. The stock was the third leading gainer on NYSE today with 28.4 million shares traded.
Stocks Drop on Heavy Volumn:
- Optimal Group Inc. (OPMR): shares of Montreal, Canada based payment processing services for the online gaming industry plunged 25.09% to new 52 weeks low of $8.81 per share on new anti-Internet gambling legislation. The stock has the chance to bounce back as ROC is showing the stock has been oversold. The stock was the leading decliner on Nasdaq today with 7 million shares exchanged hands.
- LCA-Vision Inc. (LCAV): shares of Cincinnati, Ohio based laser vision services provider tumbled 24.74% to new 52 weeks low of $31.09 per share on weaker than expected sales in September. The stock is in a weak market with MACD below 0 and K line below D line. The stock was the second leading decliner on Nasdaq today with 8.81 shares traded.
