Stocks Rise on Heavy Volumn:
  • Lumera Corp. (LMRA): shares of Bothell, Washington based nanotechnology company skyrocketted 216.46% to $5 per share after the company successfully tested wireless system that enables transmission of large amount of data. The stock is now right back at the resistence set earlier in February of this year. The stock was the best performer today with 7.1 million shares exchanged hands.
  • JLG Industries Inc.(JLG): shares of McConnelsburg, PA based lifting machinary maker soared 32.82% to $27.6 per share after the company is bought by Oshkosh Truck Corp. for $3 billion or $28 per share. The stock was the biggest gainer on NYSE today with 19.98 million shares exchanged hands.

Stock Drop on Heavy Volumn:

  • InterContinental Exchange, Inc. (ICE): shares of Atlanta based marketplace operator for energy futures trading tumbled 6.83% to $77.3 per share. The stock is now in a weak market as K line has drop below D line and the stock may test the support around $70 per share. The stock was the fourth leading decliner on NYSE today with 5.55 million shares traded.
  • SumTotal Systems Inc. (SUMT): shares of Mountain View, California based enterprise learning software maker plunged 13.5% to $6.47 per share after the company cuts its guidance for the third quarter. The stock has the chance to bounce back as ROC is showing the stock is oversold and the stock has reached 50 day moving average. The stock was the fifth leading decliner on Nasdaq today with 3.07 million shares traded.
