Stocks On The Move - April 24
Stocks Rise on Heavy Volumn:
- On2 Technologies Inc. (ONT): shares of On2 Technology, a Clifton Park, NY based video codec software maker rose 11.71% to $2.48 per share despite no news announcement. However in the after hour most of the gains are gone after the company my sell up to $60 million in common and preferred stock and warrants. The stock was the fourth leading gainer on AMEX today with 9.9 million shares traded.
Stocks Drop on Heavy Volumn:
- Amarin Corp. (AMRN): shares of London based central nervous system disorders drug maker plummetted 78% to 52 weeks low of 83 cents per share after its Huntington's disease treatment drug failed in two late-stage studies. The stock was the worst performer and the fifth heaviest traded on Nasdaq today with 63.8 million shares traded.
- ResMed Inc. (RMD): shares of sleep-disordered breathing medical equipment maker tumbled 9.85% to $43.85 per share after the company posted lower than expected third quarter result and also recall 300,000 sleep apnea devices due to short-circuit problems. The stock was the leading decliner on NYSE today with 6.47 million shares traded.
