Stocks Rise on Heavy Volumn:

  • InsWeb Corp. (INSW): shares of online insurance marketplace operator more than doubled today gaining 118% to to $7.23 per share after the company posted its first operating profit. The stock was the biggest winnder on Nasdaq today with 3 million sharest traded.
  • Jos. A Bank clothiers Inc. (JOSB): shares of men's tailored and casual clothing company rose 13.89% to $38.3 per share after the company reported better than expected 2006 earnings. The stock was the nineth leading gainer on Nasdaq today with 5 million shares traded.

Stocks Drop on Heavy Volumn:

  • Jones Soda Co. (JSDA): shares of Seattle, WA based softdrink maker tumbled 12.68% to $27.54 per share after rating cut due to unexpected surge in stock price recently. The stock was the fourth leading decliner on Nasdaq today with 9 million shares traded.
  • Crystallex International Corp. (KRY): shares of Toronto, Canada based gold mining company for property in Venezuela lost 8.63% to $3.81 per share on no news announcement. The stock has been weak for the past 52 weeks staying in the $3 to $4 range. The stock was the sixth leading decliner on AMEX today with 10 million shares traded.
