• Amazon.com Inc. (AMZN): shares of leading online retailer surged 26.95% to $56.81 per share after the company reported strong first quarter profit and also raised revenue outlook for the year. The stock was the fourht leading gainer and the third heaviest traded on Nasdaq today with 104 million shares traded.
• K2 Inc. (KTO): shares of fishing rod and fishing kits maker rose 20% to $15.1 per share after Jarden Corp. is buying the company for $765.9 million or $15.5 per share. The stock was the leading gainer on NYSE today with 14.6 million shares traded.
