Stocks On The Move - July 25
Stocks Rise on Heavy Volumn:
- Dade Behring Holdings Inc.(DADE): shares of clinical diagnostic instruments maker soared 32.82% to $74.26 per share after Siemens is buying the company for $6.3 billion or $77 per share. The stock was the second leading gainer on Nasdaq today with 10.34 million shares traded.
- Amazon.com Inc. (AMZN): this is one of the stock that helps the market finished in green instead of red. Amazon.com, the leading online giant in book sells and others saw its shares jumped 24.45% to 52 weeks high of $86.18 per share after the company reported strong second quarter profit which went tripled due to strong sales of books, music and electronics. The stock was the third leading gainer and the second heaviest traded on Nasdaq today with 60 million shares traded.
Stock Drop on Heavy Volumn:
- Skechers USA Inc. (SKX): the shoe company didn't make the mark today with 15% drop in net income for the second quarter. The stock dropped 21.39% to $22.27 and was the leading decliner on NYSE today with 5.6 million shares traded.
- Convergys Corp. (CVG): shares of customer care, billing and human resource services provider tumbled 14.51% to $20.45 per share after the company said its second quarter profit dropped 3% due to high cost and weak U.S. dollar. The stock was the third leading decliner on NYSE today with 5.7 million shares traded.
