- Aviall Inc. (AVL): shares of DFW Airport, Texas based supply-chain management services provider for the aerospace industry soars 24.56% or $9.26 to new 52 weeks high of $46.96 per share as Boeing(BA) plans to buy the company for $1.7 billion or $48 per share and assumes $350 million in debt. The stock is the biggest winnner on NYSE today with record volumn 12 million shares traded, about 44 times average volumn.
- ARAMARK Corp. (RMK): shares of Philadelphia, PA based food and facility management service provider surged 20.6% or $5.79 to new 52 weeks high of $33.9 per share as a group of investors led by the company's chairman and chief executive offers to buy out the company for $5.8 billion or $32 per share. as price of gold rose $18 today to as much as 25 year high of $658.2 an ounce and 12% for the month. The stock was the second leading gainer and third heaviest traded on NYSE today with 29 million shares exchanged hands.
Stocks Drop on Heavy Volumn:
- GlobeTel Communications Corp. (GTE): shares of Pembroke Pines, Florida based voice of ip (VoIP) products and services provider plunged 15.03% or 26 cents to $1.47 per share as the company plans to deliver a default noptice to Russia-based Internafta as the Russian firm failed to pay the first installment of fund worth $150 million. The stock was the second leading decliner on AMEX today with 5.4 million shares traded, about three times average volumn.
- XM Satellite Radio Holdings Inc. (XMSR): shares of world's leading satellite radio provider tumbled 7.72% or $1.57 to new 52 weeks low of $18.71 per share after analyst lowered price target on the company from $34 to $31 citing high cost. The stock was among the top 25 leading decliner on Nasdaq today with 17 million shares traded or twice of average volumn.
