Stocks Rise on Heavy Volumn:
  1. Acadia Pharmaceuticals Inc. (ACAD): shares of Parkinson's disease drug maker gained 11.18% to $13.82 per share as Jim Crammer was bullish about the company on his Mad Money show. The stock was the eighth leading gainer on Nasdaq on Friday with 8.3 million shares traded.
  2. Novastar Financial Inc. (NFI): shares of mortgage company rose 10.98% to $9.1 per share after the company completed a securitization of home loans. The stock was the fifth leading decliner today with 10 million shares traded.

Stocks Rise on Heavy Volumn:
  • Digene Corp. (DIGE): shares of human papillomavirus testing products maker surged 26.92% to $56.82 per share after the company is bought by Qiagen NV of Venlo for $1.6 billion or $61.25 per share. The stock was the third leading gainer on Nasdaq on Friday with 7.1 million shares traded.
  • Doral Financial Corp. (DRL): shares of mortgage banking company jumped 44.62% to $1.88 per share as a private comapny make a counter offer to buy 80% of the company for $610 million over the prvious offer of $610 million for 90% of the company. The stock was the leading gainer on NYSE today with 8.36 million shares traded.
