Stocks Rise on Heavy Volumn:

Stock Drop on Heavy Volumn:

  • Sepracor Inc. (SEPR): with a down market any bad news would accelerate the loss. This is exactly what happened to Marlborough, MA based pharmaceutical firm Sepraor. After announcing 44% profit loss and lowered forcast shares plunged 28.67% to $27.29 per share with heavy volumn of 18.9 million shares traded. The stock became the third leading decliner on Nasdaq.
  • Netgear Inc. (NTGR): shares of Santa Clara, California based communication equipment maker plunged 23.61% to $28.89 per share after the company reporeted 38% profit cut to $6.1 million. The stock was the fifth leading decliner on Nasdaq with 9 million shares traded.
  • Six Flags Inc. (SIX): the amusement parks owner hasn't yet found a solution to boost its earning with a huge second quarter loss of $50.9 million compared to $45.1 million in the same quarter last year. Shars tumbled to new 52 weeks low of $3.7 per share and ended the day at $3.9 per share, a 16.84% drop. The stock was the worst performer on NYSE today with 11.4 million shares traded.
