  • Kinetic Concepts Inc. (KCI): shares of San Antonio based wound care product maker plunged 41.4% to new low of $24.95 per share on losing the patent case for its wound-care system. This was the second time the stock plunged for the past 52 weeks as last October the stock plummetted from $56 to $35 in two days. Now since ROC is at oversold level do expect recovery for some time. The stock was the worst performer on NYSE today with 13.6 million shares exchanged hands.

  • Biovail Corp. (BVF): shares of Canadian specialty pharmaceutical comapny plunged 24.73% to new 52 weeks low of $15.77 on patent ruling against the company. Now that the stock is back to support level at $15 per share we may see some bargain hunting as ROC is also at oversold level. The stock was the biggest loser on NYSE today with 8.5 million shares traded.
  • Rambus Inc.(RMBS): in late June the leading memory chips maker tumbled 11.15% due to accounting glitches. Today shares plumetted 25.5% to near 52 weeks low of $12.65 per share after FTC found monopoly practice from the company. The stock may kept falling until it hits support at $10 on weak MACD below 0. But once it hit 0, look for bargain hunter to come in. the stock was the third leading decliner and the nineth heaviest traded on Nasdaq today with 27.5 million shares exchanged hands.

  • Scottish Re Group Ltd. (SCT): yesterday the Bermuda based life insurance company hit new low of $3.99 after it was hammered 75.06% due to second quarter earning warning with resignation of the company's president and chief executive. Since ROC were at record low, we predicted a bounce back today. The rebound was overwhelming as the shares skyrocketted 71.43% to $6.84 per share. The stock probably won't go back to $15 per share and the next few sessions would determine how the stock would do for the next few weeks. The stock was the best performer of the day and the fourth heaviest traded on NYSE with 37 million shares traded, more than the shares traded yesterday.
  • Cendant Corp.(CD): shares of New York based travel and real estate services provider surged 22.61% to $2.44 per share on first day trading of its hotel and real estate businesses spin-offs. The stock was the fourth leading gainer and the heaviest traded on NYSE today with 80.7 million shares traded.
